We can’t all be Beyoncé *sob* and we don’t really know how she spends her days, BUT there are no barriers to what we can achieve if we put our minds to it.
11. Be inspired by successful people
We all have the same 24 hours, but look how differently we all use those hours. How different would our lives be if we utilised every single hour we were given?
10. Break up your work into small tasks
Thinking about cleaning the entire house is enough to make anyone want to stay in bed all day. But thinking about washing up just one plate doesn’t seem THAT bad, does it?
Breaking your tasks into teeny-weeny ones will help get at least something done. Use post-its with numbers on them stuck around the house to keep on track.
9. Exercise
For some of us working out brings back memories of being picked last for the football team in an ill-fitting vest and pants set, but putting those bad memories aside, exercise can actually be fun (I promise).
Exercise releases endorphins putting you in a overall better mood so you’ll want to get out there and get stuff done! And once you’ve made it through a spin class, you can pretty much conquer anything.
8. Read this scripture
“A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich” – Proverbs 10:4
7. Stop writing to-do lists
As hard as this is for me to say as a stationary-fiend, scheduling your time is actually much more effective than writing a to-do list. Be realistic about how long a task will take and schedule it using your email calendar or, if you must, a notebook.
6. Music
There is nothing more motivating than good, fast music to get you going (that’s why clothes shops play it at closing time to get you moving out the shop!)
5. Tidy space, tidy mind
Your work space can have a massive impact on productivity. Spend some time making your work area as neat and welcoming as possible.
4. Eat your frog in the morning
Procrastination and laziness are BFFs*. Decide which of the day’s tasks is the worst (the frog) and do it first thing in the morning, then you can feel smug about it all day long.
*best friends forever
3. Learn from ants
“Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.” – Proverbs 6:6
2. Eat well
Good food = good mood, and heart and muscles and bones and skin and eyes and… need I go on?
1. Just do it!
At some point you just have to stop procrastinating and make. it. happen!
