Ah Matalan. I have to admit, it’s not my go-to shop for clothes, I actually can’t remember the last time I went in there, but people (both in real life and on Twitter) rant and rave about how great the clothes are, and how it’s *such* good value for money.
So, when I was invited to their press day to see a sneak peek of their Spring/Summer 15 collections, I decided to see what they had on offer, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Ladieswear
There is a definite romantic mood to Matalan’s shapes and colours this season, and they’ve gone for khakis and pastels in a big way. The looks above all have a smart/casual feel which means you can take one outfit from work to play (always a bonus).
The prices start from about £30 for jackets, £18 for jeans and £10 for flat shoes.
Matalan say tailoring and modernism are key themes for the SS15 collection these are reflected in a range of relaxed and unstructured ‘hero’ or staple pieces.
Homeware
Matalan’s Spring/Summer homeware offering is distinctly fresh and classic, with everything from pretty antique pinks to meadow greens. I love the neutral tones of the base products and the choices of accent colours and fabrics.
The soothing colours and cool blues are perfect if you’re a bit of a Delia – keen on hosting dinner parties and entertaining guests. The new botanical inspired meadow range is perfect for the green fingered who want to bring a hint of the outdoors to the home.
Kidswear
If you have children, or nieces/nephews/little cousins then take a look at some of these looks. The new season collection for kids is a good mix of trendy styles such as the floral and spot prints and tailored separates, these pieces are also super durable.
The separates are easy to mix and match together to suit different occasions and moods.
Menswear
Matalan’s SS15 Menswear collection is inspired by all things natural.
Matalan says; “Through patterns, colours and fabrics, we’ve achieved a truly relaxed look. In complete contrast, we’ve taken the lead from Miami’s palm tree lined beach front boulevards and hazy sun drenched skies, with bleached-out colours and cool fabrications, creating the perfect holiday look.”
What do you think of Matalan‘s latest offering? Will you be looking out for these pieces in store next year?
