How to survive London Fashion Week

It’s that time of the year again; time for the battle of the egos to be waged on the front row, time for wild predictions about what we will be wearing this year and the only time of the year when wearing your grandma’s blouse and skin tight hot pants is acceptable.

As stressful as London Fashion Week (20 – 24 February 2015) can be, I’ve devised a simple-as-pie five step plan inspired by my trip to the #LFWRetreat held at the Red Bull Studios in London.

Step 1: Get your hair did

Looking good during London Fashion Week is extremely important if you want to be taken seriously on the FROW, snapped for the street style section of a magazine or mistaken for a model as you nonchalantly wait outside a show.

Step 2: Be organised and persistent

If you’ve been persistent enough to get tickets to some hot shows during LFW then you’ve passed this test. But being organised is also really important. Look up where the shows are beforehand and make sure you know how you’re getting there, if you’re not on time, you may not be allowed in.

Step 3: Get your nails did (see step 1)

Go for something neutral as you will probably be wearing statement pieces each day so don’t want anything to clash. I’m wearing CND shellac in ‘Freesia’ above.

Step 4: Relax

Take some time out with a facial when you get the chance, all that free champagne and heavy make up during LFW can steal your shine. I recently had a Diamond facial at Tresor Rare which was one of the most luxurious facials I’ve ever had. I’ll be doing a full review of it soon, detailing which products were used etc.

Step 5: Stock up on high-energy snacks

Fainting as you wait in line for your 10th show of the day in sky high heels and flesh coloured leggings is just not cute.

Shows such as Fashion Scout usually have freebies (mostly food) but don’t count on them, you never know how long you may have to go without a chance to eat.

Thanks to Scout Cast Produce for an amazing day.
