The Beauty Products you need on Holiday

It’s beginning to look a lot like Summer, and in my usual hyper-organised way I’ve already taken my main Summer vacay.

Here are six super-products I couldn’t have done without on my trip to peaceful Portugal…

6. A Medical Pedicure at DG Podiatrist

Dina of DG Podiatrist

Before any holiday vibes can truly set in, you need to get your feet/bikini line/eyebrows on fleek. DG Podiatrist, a specialist clinic based in central London, can help you out with a medical pedicure.

Founder Dina Gohil tailors her luxurious treatments to each client, and makes sure you leave knowing more about your feet, and how to look after them, than ever before. You can ask her anything about feet and health in general, and unlike some pedicurists, she explains each step of the process as she goes along, so you feel completely in control.

For the first time ever I came away from a pedicure feeling good about my tootsies and wasn’t bullied or told off for having neglected them over Winter.

If you want to add a splash of colour to your toes before your trip, Dina recommends trying out Only Fingers and Toes – who make luxurious carcinogen free nail lacquer.

5. Melvita’s Geranium Floral Water

Sounds strange, but hear me out. A floral water or flight spray is essential while waiting in queues at the airport, freshening up during a long haul flight and hot days spent lying on the beach.

One cooling spritz of this had me feeling all kinds of refreshed and relaxed on the plane, but this Melvita product isn’t available to buy until July. A good alternative which I also love is LUSH’s Princess Cottongrass body spray which comes in a convenient 100ml bottle for travelling with.

4.  Bondi Sands Self-tanning Mist

I reviewed this product as soon as I got back from my trip, used it everyday on holiday to top up the day’s tan, and I’m still using it once a week to make sure my tan lasts all Summer long.

This year I was more aware of the nasty effects of sun overexposure and so made use of alternative tanning methods such as this self tanning mist and my all-time favourite, Garnier’s Summer Body lotion.

3. Nip + Fab Hyaluronic Fix Body Gel

Nip + Fab

Another great body cream is this one from Nip + Fab which is especially good for Summer because it cools the skin as it goes on – fantastic for use after shaving too.

I reviewed this body gel in more detail on the blog earlier this year.

2. Seekers of the Sun Temporary Tattoos

OK, these are not exactly holiday essentials, but they will instantly transport you into holiday mode.

Seekers of the Sun are an inspirational body art and adornment brand which only started in early 2014 and has already been featured in magazines such as Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Company, Elle and Tatler.

I wore one of their designs on my birthday earlier this year and loved the touch of glamour it added to my look. A definite must have for clubbing abroad.

1. Soltan Invisible Spray SPF30

Now for the most important holiday body cream of all, sun tan lotion. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with sun tan lotion over the years, (I actually used to wear factor 8 when I was a teenager), but now that I’ve finally realised how important it is to protect your skin from the sun, I had to find one that worked for me.

As if by magic, along came Soltan Invisible Spray in a press pack. It’s an oil spray that, yep you guessed it, disappears on contact with skin, so no more spending ages rubbing in the white streaks of normal suntan lotions.
