When I first heard about matt lipsticks I wasn’t sold on the idea. I’m a beauty magpie and like my hair, make up and especially lips to be super shiny, and couldn’t see why anyone else wouldn’t want that too.
The different shades in this range mean that there is something to suit various skin tones and occasions. My favourite is ‘Antique’ which is above, closely followed by ‘Classic red.’
The lipsticks are easily applied, and last through at least two rounds of drinks.
No alarm bells rang when I read the ingredients list, although it was a long one and the alcohol in this lipstick may make it a little drying.
Matt finishes also make drier lips hard to cover up, so make sure your exfoliate your lips with a lip scrub before using.
This is definitely a dramatic look, but I’m pretty much sold on the matt finish, it makes it less tacky than a glossy sheen.
You can buy the velvet touch range at Superdrug stores in the UK.
Fix or Fail?
I absolutely love these lipsticks, as I type I have two in my bag and have recommended the antique colour to basically everyone.
Verdict: Beauty Fix
With thanks to Z PR for providing the product.
P.S. Kylie Jenner is bringing out her own lip product range, I’ll keep you posted on any developments.
