Having a facial can be a somewhat daunting experience.
No matter how many scented candles are lit and eye wateringly expensive products are used, surrendering your bare face and any imperfections into the hands of a stranger will always be slightly nerve-wracking.
So how about getting that same quality facial at home?
When I first heard about matt lipsticks I wasn’t sold on the idea. I’m a beauty magpie and like my hair, make up and especially lips to be super shiny, and couldn’t see why anyone else wouldn’t want that too.
Then I started following Kylie Jenner on Instagram, and got my hands on GOSH‘s velvet touch matt lipstick range.
My general hatred for the way anti-ageing products are marketed is well documented (OK, I wrote about it once, here) but the products themselves are usually pretty harmless.

I recently read an article by Hayley of Carr of London Beauty Queen entitled The truth about petroleum jelly/Vaseline (and why it’s not a beauty product.) I knew about some of the issues around using petroleum jelly, but it was only when I came to review Dr. Paw Paw’s multipurpose soothing balm that it really got me thinking.
Dr. Paw Paw’s products are marketed as a multi-use balm (much in the way people use Vaseline), they can be used on lips, skin, heels, nails and even hair.
Made in the UK, these balms come in three variations; original, peach and red. I tried out the original balm over two weeks to see if it really could be used for everything.
I’ve always been an enthusiastic exfoliator, and while I’m very much opposed to real life scrubs, I do think a good body polish is an essential skincare product.
I tested out this Yes to Coconuts scrub over two weeks, below is my completely impartial review.
Smell
Guess what this product smells like? Go on! Yep it’s coconuts, but not like coconuts in the wild, it’s very much a ‘imitation’ coconut smell.

I love make up that doesn’t make you look like you’re wearing make up. This might sound a little counter intuitive but who wants to look like they have a face full of slap?
I’d rather have people wondering; “does she just have naturally flawless skin, or is she wearing make up?” Keep ’em guessing, that’s what I say.
So when I was invited to the launch of Perricone MD‘s new ‘no make up make up’ range I immediately felt like it was a brand that would understand my needs.
Dermalogica have launched a potent trio of brightening products and I was lucky enough to get my hands on the range and try it out.
At the One New Change shopping centre in St. Paul’s (which is a stunning location by the way…) I had a skin consultation with one of the trained therapists at the store which included sticking my head into a UV box to see beneath the surface of my skin.
