Beauty Fix or Beauty Fail: Nude by Nature Liquid Foundation

I don’t know about y’all, but when I wake up in the morning I look and feel like a startled mongoose, and then usually by the time I get to work I look human-ish again. “How do you perform this amazing transformation?!” I hear you cry, well a large part of it is foundation.

Liquid foundation has a special place in my heart because it’s easy to apply and doesn’t leave my face all cakey and dry. This month I went to the UK launch of Australian brand, Nude by Nature and after I peeled myself away from the canape and cocktail table at the Charlotte Street hotel, I was talked through the make up range and colour matched (I’m W3, natural beige).

Smell

I am very sensitive to smell and hate when a product has an overpowering unnatural odour. Luckily this luminous sheer foundation doesn’t smell of anything, or if you sniff *really* hard, you get a faint waft of sand.

Effectiveness

At 8am all I really want a foundation to do is cover the bags under my eyes, with as little effort as possible. I used the Nude by Nature foundation brush to apply the product and blended it with my beauty blender. I liked the coverage it gave me and the dewy glow that I got from it straight away, but did have to use slightly more product than other foundations.

It didn’t seem to set or become cakey throughout the day, which means you can build on it if you want more coverage, I added the sheer light illuminator on top and used the primer underneath.

Ingredients

Nude by Nature calls itself ‘foundation for better skin,” that’s because of the ingredients. The products do not contain any parabens, sulphates or silicone, instead they are full of vitamins and naturally derived ingredients including vitamins C and E and Australian favourites; Lilly Pilly, Quandong and Kakadu Plum to nourish the skin.

Convenience

The foundation was super easy to apply and went on smoothly, the Nude by Nature brushes are incredibly soft, but I am more of a beauty blender girl myself.

The only downside (and I’m being incredibly picky here) is that the bottles, while gorgeously designed, are a little heavy and so weigh down my already groaning make up bag.

Nude by Nature’s luminous sheer liquid foundation, and many other products in the range, launch in the UK later this month online at feelunique.com.

Fix or Fail?

It’s pretty easy to see why Nude by Nature is Australia’s best selling mineral make up brand. It contains ingredients that are good for the skin, and doesn’t contain the ones that aren’t. The dewy finish is lovely, even when applied by an amateur hand. Another bonus: the foundation comes in 20 different shades, instead of, you know, the usual 4.

Verdict: Beauty fix

With thanks to M&C Saatchi PR for providing the Nude by Nature products mentioned.

But don’t just take my word for it. Here’s what other bloggers think of Nude by Nature products;

P.S. Still don’t really understand what mineral make up is, and how it’s different from traditional make up, and the internet isn’t helping. Does anyone have a good definition?
